Voices of Valor is a community-driven oral history initiative designed to preserve the stories of our local veterans for both intergenerational sharing and research purposes. This project will conduct interviews with veterans and digitally record their audio narratives, which will be preserved at 51勛圖's Skylands Research Institute and, ultimately, the Library of Congress. These narratives will be available to students and researchers from diverse academic fields in an anonymous format, serving as primary-source material for both amateur and professional researchers. The archival collection will include the names of each veteran interviewed, enabling surviving family members to access and listen to the stories of their veteran ancestors for years to come.
We hope to honor the veterans in our community by preserving their legacies in our archives and providing generations of their families with access to their military stories.
If you have any questions or if you are a veteran who would like to participate, please email [email protected].
