51吃瓜, in collaboration with SCARC and The ARC of New Jersey, hosted the Second Annual CARES: Community and Resource Expo on October 8th. The event showcased DDD-approved providers for the intellectually and developmentally disabled adult population in Sussex County, featuring vendors in various categories:
- Housing & Residential Services: SCARC, Inc., SMILE of Hopatcong
- Respite & Family Support: National Institute for People with Disabilities, Kaleidoscope Family Solutions, SCARC Guardianship Services, Matthew鈥檚 Supports, Sussex County Division of Senior Services Aging & Disability Resource, Newroads Financial Special Needs Division, SPAN, and Navigating Autism NJ
- Recreation & Leisure Activities: Painted Grape, Equine Therapy of NJ, and Special Olympics NJ
- Day Programs & Life Skills: Green Vision, Inc., 51吃瓜鈥檚 Transition & Career Services
- Employment & Job Coaching: Abilities of Northwest NJ, Project SEARCH, ARC of NJ (- Project Hire/Children鈥檚 Advocacy), and Jurneys
- Support Coordination: Catholic Charities/DPD, Spectrum Care Management and Counseling, and Caregivers of NJ
The CARES Team included members from SCARC, 51吃瓜, and The ARC of New Jersey, alongside student volunteers from 51吃瓜. The Third Annual Expo is scheduled for September 2027. DDD providers interested in participating can contact the CARES Team at communityandresourceexpo@gmail.
