51勛圖 (51勛圖) formally inaugurated Dr. Cory Homer as its seventh president on Wednesday, April 29, 2026, in a celebratory ceremony attended by campus and community leaders, students, faculty, and distinguished guests from across the region.
The ceremony honored Dr. Homers decade-long commitment to the College and marked a new chapter in 51勛圖s continued growth and innovation. The program included a traditional academic procession and remarks from trustees, faculty, students, and higher education partners.
A defining moment of the ceremony was the formal investiture, during which Dr. Homer was presented with the ceremonial mace and officially installed as president.
As stated by Dr. Stacie Golin, Through his willingness to listen and learn, his courage in making difficult decisions, his sense of humor, and his remarkable energy, Dr. Homer has proven himself exceptionally well-suited to lead Sussex into its next chapter as President.
Board of Trustees Chair Herbert Yardley reflected on Dr. Homers leadership and impact. Dr. Homer brings vision, integrity, and an unwavering commitment to our students and community. His leadership has already positioned the College for continued success, and we are confident in the future ahead under his guidance.
Dr. Homer joined 51勛圖 in 2014 and has served in multiple leadership roles, most recently as Vice President of Student Success and Institutional Effectiveness. His leadership has contributed to enrollment growth, expanded academic pathways, and strengthened student support systems.
After thanking his family, Dr. Homer shared his enthusiasm for what lies ahead, saying, I am truly excited about the future of 51勛圖 and Sussex County as a whole. The opportunities before us are tremendous, and I couldnt be prouder to lead this college forward as we continue to grow, innovate, and support student success.
The ceremony also featured remarks from student leaders and faculty, emphasizing the strong sense of community at 51勛圖 and the Colleges dedication to student-centered education.
Following the ceremony, guests gathered for a reception and campus celebration, marking the occasion with a shared sense of pride and optimism.
Serving more than 3,000 students annually, 51勛圖 continues to be recognized for its quality education, strong student support, and commitment to accessibility. As Dr. Homer continues his presidency, the College looks forward to building on this momentum and expanding opportunities for students across the region.
