51³Ô¹Ï (51³Ô¹Ï) has embarked on an exciting transformation journey with several capital projects in the works and planning stages. These renovations and new construction initiatives, designed to enhance the campus experience for our students, faculty, and the entire community, are ongoing.

These capital projects are designed to advance the College’s strategic priorities. Here are some examples of past, present, and future capital projects that reflect how 51³Ô¹Ï aligns its efforts with its mission and goals.

High-Quality Academic and Occupational Programs: These projects are designed to strengthen and support 51³Ô¹Ï’s academic offerings.

• McGuire Technical Education Center
  • Renovated 8,000 square feet into a workshop environment for the trades program.
  • Foundation for a robust trades program supporting workforce development.
• Optics Building Expansion for the Optics Technology Program
  • A 2,600-square-foot addition and 2,100-square-foot renovation.
  • Features: Two classrooms, two equipment labs, and ADA-compliant bathrooms. The exterior improvements include a new roof and EIFS siding.

Accessible and Supportive Environment: By fostering a holistic approach to academic and student support, this initiative ensures that the campus environment is welcoming and inclusive. Several projects in this area include:

• Library Science Building - Student Commons Renovation
  • Transformation of a 10,500-square-foot Library into modern commons with classrooms, study rooms, offices, and collaborative learning areas.
• Administration Building, (B/C) HVAC Upgrades
  • Modernized HVAC systems for energy efficiency and enhanced comfort

Inclusive College Community: these projects embrace all community members and are seen in future projects such as:

• Adult Transition Center, a program to assist developmentally disabled adults - Phase 1, completed
  • Repair the old chapel building envelope: Structural repairs, new roofing, insulation, windows, and siding.
  • Paved the way for future interior vocational and office spaces.
• Public Safety Training Academy (PSTA), planned
  • Renovations will add two classrooms and basement access.
  • Supporting training programs for community safety.
